USA: NASSCO Signs USD 18 Million LHA 5 Contract

General Dynamics-NASSCO , San Diego, Calif., was awarded on June 8 an $18,092,326 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-07-C-4013) for the USS Peleliu (LHA 5) fiscal 2011 phased maintenance availabilities (PMA). A PMA includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by October 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $18,092,326 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.
