The Commander of Task Force 465, Rear Admiral Thomas Jugel, met the commander of Task Force 151 (CTF 151),Jim Captain Gilmour. He was received with military honours on the flagship USS Anzio.
During a briefing the Admiral got an overview of the operational capabilities of the international Task Force. The commanding officer of CTF 151 showed the priorities for the fight against anti-piracy missions in the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia.
In the follow up conversation they shared their experiences which had been gained so far. Both commanders have a common goal, to make the sea area around the Horn of Africa for shipping safer. Therefore, they have agreed that in the future the multinational units, which are operating in the area, will continue to work closely together.
Finally, both Task Force Commanders underlined to support each other wherever possible.
