Warships and supply vessels of Russian Navy’s carrier group headed by Northern Fleet (NF) aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov continues the cruise through the Atlantic after replenishment of water and food supplies from supply vessels in the Moray Firth.
Replenishment started on Dec 12 and was not completed due to bad weather conditions.
Heading through the Atlantic, crews of aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov , large ASW ship Admiral Chabanenko , frigate Yaroslav Mudry and supply vessels will continue improving naval skills and hold a number of drills within the interfleet task group. Deck-based aviation plans to start training flights as soon as the weather becomes better.
Russian ships dropped an anchor in the Moray First off Scotland on Monday, Dec 12. Interfleet task force was formed in the Moray Firth when the Baltic Fleet (BF) task unit consisting of frigate Yaroslav Mudry and tanker Lena joined the force. The Russian carrier group had to stay several days in the firth due to adverse weather.
