Commander of the Navy declared open the Senior Sailors’ Mess and the extensions of Junior Sailors’ Mess at SLNS Parakrama on 02nd January 2012. Senior naval officers attached to Naval Headquarters, Commanding Officer and Sailors of SLNS Parakrama were also present on the occasion.
Under the guidance of Secretary of Defence and Urban development the Navy has taken steps to improve the facilities of Senior and Junior Sailor Messes in all naval commands. They are air-conditioned and made more attractive in order to create a comfortable environment for naval personnel to have their meals and spend their leisure time in a more productive manner.
