Visit of Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky to Netherlands started on March 7. The visit will last till March 9 and include meetings with Dutch defense minister Hans Hillen, Royal Netherlands Navy Commander Vice Admiral Matthieu Borsboom, and Russian Ambassador to Netherlands Roman Kolodkin.
The parties will discuss anti-piracy issues and further cooperation between navies of the two countries. ADM Vladimir Vysotsky will visit a Walrus -class diesel submarine, a Seven Provinces -class frigate, a Holland -class patrol ship, and will watch demonstration of Dutch marines, landing from helicopter Lynx , and demonstration flight of ASW helicopter NH-90 .
Russian Navy Commander will be shown production capacities of Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding , Thales Netherlands , and Imtech . Admiral Vysotsky also plans to visit a Sigma -class frigate which is currently under construction.
