No Russian Warships Deployed off Syria, Defense Ministry Says

Russian Defense Ministry is perplexed by reports appeared in the press that Russian warships are allegedly deployed off Syria. There are no Russian warships on mission near Syria. Russian Defense Ministry is perplexed by reports appeared in the press that Russian warships are allegedly deployed off Syria.

There are no Russian warships on mission near Syria.

Auxiliary vessel Iman (replenishment tanker) has been moored at Syrian port Tartus for 10 days performing logistic support tasks. The ship replenishes supplies of Black Sea Fleet and Northern Fleet ships on the anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden.

Complement of tanker Iman consists of civil personnel and a guard unit.
