The guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul (DDG 74) arrived in Victoria, Seychelles, for a scheduled port visit, July 10.

During the visit, the crew will host a reception for local officials, conduct a community project at the President’s Village Children’s Home and play basketball with students from a local high school.

“This port call offers the crew some much needed rest and relaxation before we return to our mission at sea, ” said Cmdr. Dan Gillen, commanding officer of McFaul. “The crew is looking forward to interacting with the community and experiencing a new culture.”

McFaul is homeported out of Norfolk, Va., and is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. Naval Forces Africa area of responsibility.
