Naval troops attached to SLNS Walagamba of the Eastern Naval Command responding to an urgent request for assistance rescued 6 persons from a boat capsized in the Poduwakattu Lagoon on 26th January 2013.
Two others, a boy aged 5 and a girl aged 13, had died on admition to Hospital.
The rescued persons were transferred to Kuchchaveli Base Hospital for further treatment. Kuchchaveli Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
