A delegation headed by Hon. Brendon O’ Coner, the Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, visited the Southern Naval Headquarters on 03rd May 2013.
They were warmly received by Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva and he briefed them on the counter actions taken by SLN against Australia-bound human smuggling activities.
During the visit, the Hon. Minister also had an opportunity in seeing some of the boats apprehended by SLN and he expressed his appreciation for the efforts taken by SLN against human smuggling.
