Rear Adm. Michael S. White, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 11, visited the guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59), April 30.
White arrived aboard to discuss the ship’s deployment schedule and thank the crew for months of preparation, training and maintenance as a part of CSG-11.
“It was great having the admiral take time to visit us and recognize our hard work. It showed that he really cares about the Sailors and believes each of us is making a difference in the strike group,” said Operations Specialist 2nd Class Shane Leshok, from Conyers, Ga.
During his visit, White toured the Combat Information Center, one of the ship’s engine rooms, and addressed the crew during an all-hands call.
Princeton recently left San Diego for a Western Pacific deployment with the rest of CSG-11, including the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11 .
