The final delivery of the Italian FREMM “Carlo BERGAMINI” was held today at the Fincantieri shipyard in Muggiano (La Spezia).
This is the first of series of FREMM (European Multi Mission Frigates) ships ordered by the Italian Navy from Orizzonte Sistemi Navali, within the framework of an agreement between Italy and France to build 10 vessel for Italy and 11 for France, with planned completion of all 21 frigates within 2022.
Italian FREMM have system configuration tailored on different operational tasks.
Main Characteristics:
The ships are intended to operate at National level, and integrated in international missions, contributing to European, NATO and United Nations operations.
