Ambassador of Japan to Visit Polish Navy

On Wednesday, 10th of July, Ambassador of Japan H.E. Makoto Yamanaka will pay a visit in the Polish Navy, Gdynia. During the visit he will meet with Commander in Chief of the Polish Navy – Vice Admiral Tomasz Mathea. One of the most important topic of the Polish-Japanese talks will be the visit in Poland of the Japanese ships (Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force – JMSDF) which is planned in the beginning of August.

The visit will start at 11:00 from the official welcoming ceremony onboard the historical destroyer ORP „BLYSKAWICA”. Commander in Chief of the Polish Navy Vice Admiral Tomasz Mathea will officially welcome H.E. Ambassador with the assistance of Honour Guard and Navy Band.

After the official welcoming, the talks will begin. The Polish Navy officers will present the tasks, structures and modernizations plan of the Polish Navy. Then Vice Admiral Mathea and H.E. Makoto Yamanaka will discuss the topics concerning the visits of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ships in Gdynia, Poland. The visits is planned in the beginning of August. Three Japanese ships: training vessel „Kashima”, training vessel „Shirayuki” and destroyer „Isoyuki” for the first time in history will enter Polish harbour. The ships are conducting the Overseas Training Cruise for junior officers. In addition, visiting Polish harbour as part of the training is also a promotion of friendly relations with other countries.
