McKean Defense Group, LLC has been awarded a Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) services contract in support of Deputy Commander for Surface Warfare (SEA 21). The three-year cost plus fixed fee contract is valued at over $24.8 million.

McKean will provide program management support, budget/finance support, operations support and administrative services to the Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Centers (CNRMC) and the Surface Team One (ST1) initiative. CNRMC’s mission is to enhance surface ship maintenance and modernization efforts. The purpose of ST1 is to improve cross-organizational processes to address the challenge of meeting expected service life and current readiness. McKean has supported CNRMC since its stand up in 2011, and ST1 since the initiative was created in 2009. This task creates the ability to capture synergies across the efforts, organizations and stakeholders.

“One of McKean’s core competencies is surface navy maintenance, modernization and sustainment,” stated Joseph L. Carlini, CEO of McKean. “With this dedicated contract, Team McKean will be able to more efficiently execute the customer’s mission.” This win is the second NAVSEA award for the company in recent weeks.

McKean’s teammates in this bid include Alion Science and Technology Corporation, American Systems Corporation, CACI Enterprise Solutions, Inc., Delta Resources, Inc., eNthusaProve, LLC., Herren Associates, Inc., Life Cycle Engineering, Inc., Patrona Corporation, Science Applications International Corporation, Thor Solutions, LLC., and Valkyrie Enterprises, LLC. Team staff will be located in Washington, D.C., Hampton Roads, Bath, San Diego, Avondale and Pascagoula.
