ASC Inks Multi-Million Dollar Contract with Defence Materiel Organisation

ASC has signed a $57 million contract with the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) to update the control management and monitoring systems for the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines.

Minister for Defence, Senator David Johnston today announced the multi-million dollar contract for the project that aims to remediate obsolescence of the Integrated Ship Control Management and Monitoring System (ISCMMS).

“Work under the $57 million contract will focus on updating electronic components and porting the software to operate on the new system,” Senator Johnston said.

ASC has also signed a $32 million agreement with Saab Systems Pty Ltd as the major subcontractor on the project to remediate the ISCMMS hardware and software.

ASC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Steve Ludlam said ASC was extremely pleased to have Saab on board for this important project.

“This is a large scale opportunity for ASC to demonstrate that we have the capability to provide Platform Systems Integrator services under our In Service Support Contract.”

Saab Systems Managing Director, Dean Rosenfield is pleased that Saab can support ASC on this important project. “ISCMMS has been a very successful part of the Collins Class Submarine and is critical to its ongoing operations.”
