BMT Isis Ltd (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, the leading international design, engineering and risk management consultancy, will showcase its capabilities at the Environmental and Safety Assurance Symposium (ESAS), the UK MOD’s flagship event which takes place on the 7th and 8th May 2014 at MoD Abbey Wood.

With a strong reputation for engineering excellence, BMT Isis has significant Safety, Environmental, Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives and Security capability and a long standing track record of supporting the MOD’s DE&S through a number of projects. Recent projects include: developing the guidance required for JSP 430 – Management of Ship Safety and Environmental Protection; a rewrite of JSP 454 – Land Systems Safety and Environmental Protection and being a key partner in the delivery of the Maritime Safety Development Programme (MSDP).

Driven by a belief that things can always be better, safer and more efficient, experts from BMT’s Surface Navy, Underwater and Land Systems teams will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise with delegates through a series of interactive demonstrations. Through the use of technology, including augmented reality and iPads, delegates will, for example, be able to navigate the compartment of a ship, looking at specific equipment and the associated safety hazards. This will help provide a better understanding of what’s required in regards to safety management and environmental protection.
