Chinese Military Delegation Visits EU Naval Force Operational HQ

Earlier today the Operational Commander of the EU Naval Force, Rear Admiral Bob Tarrant, welcomed the Defence Advisor to the People’s Republic of China Delegation to the European Union, Major General Luo Wei and his Deputy, Senior Colonel Qiu Yi, to the Operational Headquarters in Northwood.

During the visit, Major General Luo Wei was given a briefing on Operation Atalanta, which is the European Union’s counter-piracy mission off the coast of Somalia and in the Horn of Africa region.

EU Naval Force conducted a Counter Piracy exercise with the Chinese Navy in March 2014.
