The 4th Navy-to-Navy Staff Talks between the Indian Navy and the Sri Lanka Navy were held from 6th to 8th August 2014 at New Delhi in India.

The five-member SLN delegation was headed by Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro. The 16-member IN delegation that took part the talks was headed by Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence), Rear Admiral RB Pandit.

The staff interaction between the two friendly Navies aimed at enhancing bilateral naval cooperation and inter-personal relations. It stressed the importance of developing a comprehensive Maritime Domain Awareness and strengthening the ongoing engagement of both Navies at the operational level as well as in the field of training and information exchange.

During this year’s session, the delegates focused their attention on a wide range of issues that included training, forces interaction and cooperation in hydrography.

Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Rosayro also paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief of Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, Vice Admiral RK Pattanaik during the SLN delegation’s visit to India. After cordial discussions, mementos were also exchanged as a gesture of goodwill.
