Sri Lanka Navy assisted the repatriation of 40 Indian fishermen released from Sri Lankan custody.

They were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Rajtharang” in the seas off Kankesanturai at the International Maritime Boundary Line on 4th October 2014.

Naval patrol craft attached to Northern Naval Command were deployed for the humanitarian mission. Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 49 also assisted the mission.
