Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, for a routine port visit Nov. 3.
The port visit will continue efforts to strengthen maritime partnerships in order to enhance regional stability. It will also give Sailors the opportunity to meet with the people of Lisbon and experience the rich history and culture of Portugal.
Sailors will have opportunities to participate in numerous tours as well as assist in the renovation of a warehouse at the Ronald McDonald House facility.
Roosevelt will also host several leaders of the Portuguese navy aboard for a ship tour.
Roosevelt, homeported in Mayport, Florida, is deployed as part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
