HMAS Sirius recently returned home to the Diamantina Wharf, Fleet Base West following a busy seven month deployment.

It has been a very busy year for Sirius with two extended maintenance availability periods, including several months in dry dock in Sydney, before an assessment period in October, participation in Exercise DISTANT SHORES and the Albany Convoy Commemorative Event in November. Finally Sirius provided support to the G20 Summit in Brisbane before the long transit home.

Ship’s company is now enjoying some brief ‘rest and recreation’ before completing final maintenance and administration in preparation for the Christmas period, when, Sirius will be ‘on watch’ to respond to any emergencies at short notice.
