Sailors aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG-101) received approximately 120 supply pallets during a replenishment-at-sea, Dec. 02.

The pallets were received via vertical replenishment (VERTREP) between the Gridley and Military Sealift Command Fleet Replenishment Oiler USNS Joshua Humphreys (T-AO 188).

Chief Logistics Specialist Mark Co, Gridley’s supply department chief petty officer, said:

We’re receiving a lot of stores, ship parts and other consumables.

This is the first time we’ve received this many, ever.

Normally, a VERTREP for Gridley is considerably smaller.

Seaman Craigen Salvador added:

30-40 pallets is no problem, but this is three times that.
