US Coast Guard search-and-rescue crews are searching for a missing fisherman south of Key West, Florida, Wednesday morning.
Missing is Dennis Dallmeyer, 67, of Key West.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received a report from a friend of Dallmeyer that he was aboard a 25-foot vessel fishing in the vicinity of Key West and hasn’t returned.
Watchstanders issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast (UMIB) and launched a response boatcrew from Station Key West and an HC-144 aircraft from Air Station Miami.
A commercial salvage vessel responded to the UMIB and located the Dallmeyer’s vessel eight nautical miles south of Key West with the keys in the ignition.
The 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Alligator is on scene assisting with the search.
