On 18th February, EU Naval Force warship ESPS Rayo hosted the Force Commander, Rear Admiral Jonas Haggren.
The Admiral was accompanied by a delegation of four officers from his multi-national Force Headquarters on board HNLMS Johan de Witt.
During his visit, Rear Admiral Haggren was briefed on the capabilities of ESPS Rayo and her contribution so far to the EU Naval Force, followed by a tour of the warship and a traditional Spanish lunch in the Wardroom.
After signing ESPS Rayo’s ‘book of honour’, Rear Admiral Haggren, along with his staff, was flown back to HNLMS Johan de Witt by the Spanish Navy GATO 18 helicopter.
On completion of the visit, ESPS Rayo honoured Rear Admiral Haggren by conducting a “sail pass” manoeuvere with HNLMS Johan de Witt.
