Italian Navy’s frigate ITS Aliseo (F 574) is returning home after a four month deployment.

During this time the vessel was part of the Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2). ITS Aliseo visited eight ports and conducted Passing Exercises with the Charles de Gaulle carrier strike group, and the Croatian, Hellenic, Turkish, Bulgarian, Romanian, and Moroccan Navies.

Also, the vessel’s crew took part in in four Operation Active Endeavour surges.

Under Operation Active Endeavour, NATO ships patrol the Mediterranean and monitor shipping to help detect, deter and protect against terrorist activity.
