EUROMARFOR Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) recently celebrated two events – the Spanish Navy taking command of the operation and its 20th anniversary.

EUROMARFOR, a non-standing, military force created in 1995 by France, Italy, Portugal and Spain, is set to fulfill missions defined in the Petersberg Declaration. The force undertakes sea control, humanitarian missions, peacekeeping operations, crisis response operations, and peace enforcement.

Numerous vessels were present at the ceremony in Cartagena, among which were ITS Rimini, SPS Relàmpago, SPS Tajo, NRP Baptista de Andrade, and the French minesweeper Capricorne.
