Irish Navy’s patrol vessel LÉ EITHNE recently hosted the Minister for Defence Mr Simon Coveney T.D.

Ireland’s Minister for Defence addressed the 70 members of the Ship’s Company in the hangar of the vessel in Valletta, Malta.

Minister Frances Fitzgerald, Minister Joe Sherlock and Chief Of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lt Gen Conor O Boyle were also in attendance.

Since 28th May the L.É. EITHNE has rescued 3,376 men, women and children from unseaworthy vessels in 22 separate rescue operations.
