Russian Navy’s Vessels Sail to Luanda, Angola

Russian Navy’s vessels, missile cruiser Moskva, guard ship Pytlivy and the rescue tug boat Shakhter, arrived in the port of Luanda, Angola, to strengthen international military cooperation between the two countries.

The Commander of the Russian ship formation Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet Vice Admiral Valery Kulikov will pay official visits to the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the Navy of Angola as well as the mayor of Luanda.

Before the visit to Luanda, the ships Moskva, Pytlivy, Shakhter and the tanker Ivan Bubnov conducted antisubmarine and air defence drills, carried out replenishment at sea and protection of civil vessel against pirate attacks.

The vessels will stay in Angola until July 14, after which they are to continue their mission in the Atlantic Ocean.
