Spanish Navy Oiler to Join Op Active Endeavor

The Spanish Navy auxiliary oiler and replenishment (AOR) ship ‘Cantabria’ has set sail from Ferrol (NW Spain) to integrate into the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG-2). The ‘Cantabria’ will deploy for 45 days until the end of August participating in the international counter-terrorist operation

The Spanish Navy auxiliary oiler and replenishment (AOR) ship ‘Cantabria’ has set sail from Ferrol (NW Spain) to integrate into the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG-2).

The ‘Cantabria’ will deploy for 45 days until the end of August participating in the international counter-terrorist operation ‘Active Endeavor’ in the Mediterranean Sea. The ‘Cantabria’ will visit the ports of Majorca, Aksaz (Turkey) and Tunis.

Before departing for this NATO operation, the AOR ‘Cantabria’ conducted a series of training exercises to achieve full operational readiness for this type of mission.
