Sri Lanka Navy Stops 165 Kg of Cannabis

Sri Lanka Navy arrested four Indian nationals in an attempt to smuggle 165 kilograms of Cannabis. Sri Lanka Navy arrested four Indian nationals in an attempt to smuggle 165 kilograms of Cannabis.

Naval craft of the North Central Naval Command which were on routine patrol arrested the suspected smugglers in the seas north-west of the Thalai-mannar in the early hours of July 14, 2015. The authorities also seized a dhow and fishing gear found onboard the vessel.

The arrested people and the seized items are due to be handed over to the Department of Customs for onward action.
