Royal Moroccan Navy placed an order with PIRIOU, a shipbuilding, ship repair and naval engineering company, for a 50m LCT (Landing Craft Tank) which will be operated in the Moroccan coastal waters.

This new unit will be built in France with expected delivery mid-2016.

Also included in the contract is training in Concarneau for the first crew to become familiar with both vessel operation and maintenance.

The 50m LCT is based on PIRIOU’s civilian version and is intended for the transportation of vehicles, various cargoes as well as for the supply of water and fuel. The vessel will be fitted with two handling cranes and a bow ramp allowing loading or unloading on beach or on dock.
