In a number of joint efforts between the Colombian naval and air force units a total of 4,7 tons of cocaine has been seized in the last 15 days.

The latest operation was conducted on Thursday in the Colombian Pacific waters. It resulted in over a ton of cocaine being seized, worth an estimated $40 million.

Officials arrested seven crew members from two motor boats intercepted at sea. The individuals, as well as their shipment, were transported to Buenaventura for further processing.

So far this year the Colombian officials confiscated more than 33 tons of cocaine, worth more than one billion dollars.
