On Wednesday 12th August ESPS Galicia hosted officers from the Pakistani Navy during the Spanish warship’s port visit to Muscat, Oman.
The Operation Atalanta Force Commander, Rear Admiral Alfonso Gómez Fernández de Córdoba, invited the Commanding Officer of PNS Aslat, Commander Jamal Alam and members of his crew on board. PNS Aslat is deployed as part of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) counter-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden.
Whilst on board, the Pakistani naval officers were given a tour of ESPS Galicia, and the commanders discussed the on-going counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden.
