The U.S. Navy has awarded three companies contracts to support amphibious warfare and surface combatant ships home-ported in the Port of San Diego.
The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a total potential value of $1.32 billion among three awardees, General Dynamics, BAE Systems and Maritime Continental of San Diego.
The U.S. Navy said the companies would be awarded multiple award contracts to provide complex emergent and continuous maintenance on surface combatants (DDG and CG) class ships and amphibious (LSD, LPD, LHA, and LHD) class ships.
Each contractor will be awarded one contract for surface combatants class ships and one contract for amphibious class ships
As part of the contract, NASSCO will help modernize, maintain and repair Navy ships that dock in San Diego, including six classes of military combat and amphibious vessels.
