Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Sensors has been awarded a $357 million contract for in-service work on the Advanced Electronic Guidance and Instrumentation System (AEGIS) for Japan’s Maritime Self Defense Force and the Norwegian Navy.
Under the U.S. Navy-awarded contract, Lockheed will carry out combat systems engineering and computer program maintenance which includes annual inspection and regular overhaul execution support.
The company will be in charge of replacing legacy cathode ray tube character readout devices for Japan, logistics depot support for Norway unique line replaceable units.
AEGIS implementation studies for future Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Aegis shipbuilding programs to fulfill Aegis lifetime support requirements of the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force, Republic of Korea Navy, Spanish Armada, Royal Australian Navy, and Royal Norwegian Navy are also included in the contract.
If all options are exercised, the contract’s cumulative value would be brought to $421,031,155.
