Norwegian ship services company Bergen Group Services AS has been contracted to carry out an inspection and survey project on the Norwegian Navy minesweeper KNM Rauma.
The company said the project would start in early January 2017 and would take 12 weeks to complete.
Bergen completed a similar project on the KNM Hinnøy in first half 2016.
KNM Rauma and KNM Hinnøy are part of the Norwegian Navy’s fleet of six almost identical mine hunting vessels divided in two classes. Rauma is part of the three-ship Alta-class while KNM Hinnøy is one of three Oksøy-class minehunters.
The awarded project on the minesweeper is part of a framework agreement which the Norwegian Defense Logistics Organisation (FLO) has signed with Bergen Group Services AS and two other companies relating to ship maintenance and repair of some categories of military vessels.

The contract is an important contribution to the Bergen Group’s long-term strategy to further develop our expertise and capacity related to complex maritime projects and service operations,” Bergen Group Services CEO Frode Johansson said.
