U.S. Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) stopped in Subic Bay, Philippines, January 23, during its regular patrol.
The Arleigh Burke-class ship will use the stop to conduct some minor repairs with the assistance of Filipino companies.
McCain’s crew will also participate in a series of community service projects and sporting events during the crew’s visit to the Philippines.
McCain is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
