Tunisian authorities have recovered bodies of at least eight drowned migrants while some 20 more are still missing after a Tunisian Navy vessel collided with a migrant boat off the country’s coast.
The migrant boat was carrying between 70 and 80 migrants according to survivor testimonies reported by Reuters.
The migrant vessel sunk following the collision according to Italian media reports.
The Maltese coast guard is coordinating the rescue mission undertaken by Italian navy and coast guard ships.
