The Russian Navy has received six modernized Ka-29 modernized ship-based combat transport helicopters which underwent scheduled repairs at Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise.

The transport versions of the Ka-27 family arrived to Nikolaevka naval air base of the Pacific Fleet on November 9.

The helicopters were delivered to Knevichi airfield by Il-76 military transport airplanes. After that they were received by crews to conduct test flights.

The six Ka-29 helicopters are among the first units to be delivered to the Russian Navy after company Russian Helicopters announced it was ready for serial delivery of helicopters to the navy.

The helicopters are equipped with a new tactical command system that includes new acoustic and magnetometric systems, a radio reconnaissance system, an information computation system and an active phased array airborne radar station.

The Ka-29 helicopters were escorted by an An-26 plane and Mi-8 helicopter of the Pacific Fleet en route to their homebase where the crews will train on the modernized aircraft.
