Damen Naval, responsible for constructing the frigates and the main contractor with the NL MOD/NAVY, will manage the integration of the SCANTER 6002 radars onto the vessels.

Meanwhile, RH Marine, serving as a system integrator, will work with Terma to guarantee the smooth integration and peak performance of the radar systems.

The SCANTER 6002 naval surveillance radar is an International Maritime Organization (IMO) approved product, Terma said.

The radar is equipped with X-band technology, multi-frequency capabilities, and small target detection algorithms.

“We are honored to have been selected to provide our SCANTER 6002 radars to the Belgian and Netherlands navies. These radars are not only best-in-class but also represent the culmination of Terma’s relentless dedication to innovation and excellence in maritime surveillance technology. We are confident that our partnership with Damen Naval and RH Marine will ensure the successful integration and deployment of these radar systems, ultimately enhancing the operational capabilities of the frigates and bolstering maritime security in the region,” said Martin Jentsch, Sales Director, Naval Sales at Terma.

To remind, Damen has hired German engine manufacturer MAN ES to provide the propulsion engines and GenSets for four anti-submarine warfare frigates.
