As disclosed, the cooperation comes as part of the letter of intent (LOI) signed in February 2025 between ELT Group and EDGE Group. The partners plan to advance discussions on the supply of electronic warfare (EW) systems for the Kuwait Navy’s missile boats, with ELT Group outlined as the preferred supplier.

The letter was signed by Domitilla Benigni, CEO & COO of ELT Group, and Omar Al Zaabi, President – Trading and Mission Support, EDGE Group.

Both companies have a shared intent to accelerate the process and collaborate towards formalizing the contract. It marks the first significant milestone in their partnership, which also includes plans for the potential establishment of a joint venture in the UAE, it was highlighted.

To remind, EDGE Group recently signed a landmark AED 9 billion ($2.45 billion) defense contract with the Kuwait Ministry of Defense for the Falaj 3-class offshore patrol vessels (OPVs).

The agreement involves the supply of Falaj 3-class 62-meter missile boats. Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), a subsidiary of EDGE Group, has been appointed as the subcontractor responsible for the construction of the vessels.
