French shipbuilder Naval Group has renewed its contract with the Egyptian Navy for the in-service support (ISS) of seven naval vessels.

The ISS contract has been in force since 2019, and with this agreement, the partners are strengthening their collaboration focused on fleet availability.

The seven vessels include: the multi-mission frigate (FREMM) Tahya Misr, the two Egyptian landing helicopter docks (E-LHD) Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar El Sadat, and the four Gowind corvettes El Fateh, Port Said, El Moez, and Al Ismailia.

Naval Group will provide work opportunities for Egyptian employees to expand its teams in Egypt. Discussions are also underway to forge new partnerships with Egyptian suppliers, who will participate in ship maintenance operations alongside Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy.

The company has supplied the Egyptian Navy with a multi-mission frigate, two Mistral-class E-LHDs, and four Gowind corvettes, three of which were built locally through a technology transfer program. The group also inaugurated its subsidiary in Alexandria in 2018, marking its long-term local presence.
