Sri Lanka Navy Holds Tree Planting to Coincide “Deyata Sevana”

In keeping with the national tree planting campaign “Deyata Sevana” the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake and the Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral WMLTD Ilangakoon participated in a tree planting campaign held on the beach of Maha Modhara in Galle on 15th November 2011.

Officers and Sailors of SLNS Nipuna and SLNS Dakshina also took part in the tree planting campaign displaying their willingness and dedication to help create a better environment for the future generations. The Navy is committed to protect the environment and contributes to its protection for the benefit of future generation.
