Sri Lankan Navy Arrests 18 Persons with Prohibited Fishing Nets

Naval Vessel P 152 attached to SLNS Vijaya of the North-western Naval Command on routine sea patrol arrested 18 persons engaged in illegal fishing using prohibited fishing gears on 14^th April 2012. The arrested persons along with 02 prohibited fishing nets, 02 pairs of diving fins, 02 diving masks and 05 FGDs in their possession were handed over to Kalpitiya Police for further investigations.
