Sri Lankan Navy Assists in Reparation of Fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of 02 Sri Lankan fishermen released from Indian custody, on 19th April 2012.

The fishermen and a fishing boat named “DMS – 335” were received from the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Rajshree” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurei by the Sri Lankan Naval Vessel P 411 attached to the Northern Naval Command. Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 42 too assisted the mission.

The speedy release of the Sri Lankan fishermen and their fishing boat comes as a direct result of the collaborative efforts made by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian officials.
