Secretary of Defense Announces Navy Flag Officer Nominations

Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced May 10 that the President has made the following nominations:

Navy Capt. John D. Alexander has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Alexander is currently serving as commanding officer, the USS Abraham Lincoln, Everett, Wash.

Navy Capt. Brian K. Antonio has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Antonio is currently serving as the executive assistant to the assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Bret C. Batchelder has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Batchelder is currently serving as director, Aviation Officer Career Management and Distribution, PERS 43, Naval Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.

Navy Capt. Ronald A. Boxall has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Boxall is currently serving as executive assistant to the deputy chief of naval operations for integration of capabilities and resources, N8, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Robert P. Burke has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Burke is currently serving as director, Submarine/Nuclear Power Distribution Division, PERS 42, Naval Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.

Navy Capt. Brian B. Brown has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Brown is currently serving as executive assistant to the director, oceanography, space and maritime domain awareness, N2/N6E, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Oceanographer of the Navy, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Luther B. Fuller III., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Fuller is currently serving as commander, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, N.H.

Navy Capt. David J. Hahn has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Hahn is currently serving as major program manager, Submarine Combat and Weapons Control Systems, PMS-425, Program Executive Office for Submarines, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. John F. Kirby has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Kirby is currently serving as senior military assistant for public affairs, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Alexander L. Krongard has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Krongard is currently serving as director, combating terrorism, National Security Council, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Andrew L. Lewis has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Lewis is currently serving as executive assistant to the director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Bruce H. Lindsey has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Lindsey is currently serving as assistant chief of staff, force readiness, N40, Naval Air Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif.

Navy Capt. Bruce F. Loveless has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Loveless is currently serving as commander, Joint Intelligence Operations Center Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Navy Capt. Dee L. Mewbourne has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Mewbourne is currently serving as commanding officer, the USS Harry S. Truman, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Capt. John P. Neagley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Neagley is currently serving as major program manager for littoral combat ships, PMS-501, Program Executive Office for Littoral Combat Ships, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Patrick A. Piercey has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Piercey is currently serving as executive assistant to the assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Markham K. Rich has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Rich is currently serving as chief of staff, Navy Region Southwest, San Diego, Calif.

Navy Capt. Charles A. Richard has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Richard is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Strategic Command, Special Activities Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Capt. Paul A. Sohl has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Sohl is currently serving as commanding officer, Naval Test Wing Pacific, Pt. Mugu, Calif.

Navy Capt. Cynthia M. Thebaud has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Thebaud is currently serving as branch head, Strategy and Policy Division, N511, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Brad Williamson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Williamson is currently serving as executive assistant to the deputy commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Capt. Ricky L. Williamson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Williamson is currently serving as deputy director, plans and programs, Naval Installations Command, Washington, D.C.
