Indian Navy Creates IT Cadre

The Economic Times reports that the Indian Navy is creating an Information Technology cadre.

Having conducted the necessary training, the Indian navy officers will be able to protect its critical networks from attacks by hackers.

The officers will be posted on navy ships and establishments to carry out IT duties, handle state-of-the-art and niche applications in operational and administrative areas.

Indian networks were recently attacked by Chinese hackers in Vishakhapatnam after which the force ordered Board of Inquiry (BoI) against some of its officers on the grounds of breaching Information Technology security.
