3rd Annual Amphibious Operations Conference to Be Held in London, UK

Senior military officials, including eight flag officer from over 15 nations including the UK, US, Italy, Norway, Finland, France, The Netherlands, Poland, Philippines and Australia will gather in London along with leading industry experts at the 3rd Annual Amphibious Operations between 25 – 27 September.

The 3rd annual Amphibious Operations conference will explore how marine infantry units conduct amphibious operations and how they interact with and utilise landing docks and landing craft as well as weapons and navigation systems.

Amphibious Operations 2012 will specifically focus on Asia Pacific with the Philippines offering an update on their modernisation plans and the US speaking about regional cooperation.

Military personnel will give their future perspective and requirements over the course of the three day event. They include speakers such as: Major General Ed Davis OBE, Commandant General of the Royal Marines who will present on ‘A future perspective of the Royal Marines’, followed by Major General Timothy Hanifen, Director, Expeditionary Warfare (N85), US Navy who will outline ‘Future requirements for the expeditionary warrior’ and Brigadier General Remigio C Valdez AFP, Deputy Commandant (Incoming), Philippine Marine Corps who will give an ‘Update on the modernisation programmes and the capability update programmes on the Philippine Marine Corps’.

 “Amphibious Operations 2012 is an opportunity to meet with the USMC’s partners from around the world, not only to share our experiences from Bold Alligator-12, but more importantly to describe how we might collectively consider exploiting them with a view toward developing even more robust amphibious capabilities in the near future,Colonel Vince Goulding (ret’d), Director, Experiment Division, USMC Warfighting Lab stated.

The event is auspiced by Shark Marine Technologies, Dubai Ship Building and Engineering L.L.C and Marine Alutech Oy Ab.
