Commander of Navy Visits SLN's Deyata Kirula Exhibition Site

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage visited the SLN site at the “Deyata Kirula” Exhibition in Ampara on 16th January 2013.

On arrival, he was received by Deputy Area Commander of the South-eastern Naval Area, Commodore UB Sumanasekera. The Navy Commander reviewed the progress of the SLN site construction and related arrangements. The Navy exhibition stall at the mega event will depict the activities of the Sri Lanka Navy and display exhibits showing SLN’s capabilities and achievements.

The Commander of the Navy also visited the South-eastern Naval Headquarters in Panama and addressed the ship’s complement there. The Commander appreciated the contribution rendered by the Naval personnel for the infrastructure development and the smooth functioning of the Naval administration. He emphasized the need for continuous professional development and safeguarding of the dignity and decorum of the service at all times. Elaborating on the multitude of welfare measures implemented, the Navy Commander requested all Naval personnel to utilize the facilities for the benefit of their families and the education of their children, who will be the future of peaceful Sri Lanka.
