PCG, PMMA Sign MOA on Joint Education and Training

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to further reinforce, sustain and institutionalize the partnership between the two agencies aboard Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard Function Hall today, 16 April 2013.

Likewise, the first batch of PCG sponsored PMMA cadets, composed of twenty-four (24) Second Class cadets who will be on their shipboard training this year, rendered a courtesy call to PCG Commandant RADM Rodolfo Isorena.

The signing of the MOA was hosted by the Coast Guard Education and Training Command (CGETC) headed by its commander, COMMODORE ROLANDO D LEGASPI PCG. After the actual signing of the MOA between the PCG and PMMA, a remark was delivered by RADM Richard U Ritual PMMA thanking the PCG for their trust in the academy, followed by a remark from RADM Isorena PCG.
In his speech, in behalf of the officers, men and women of the PCG, RADM Isorena has expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the PMMA family headed by RADM Ritual for their continued partnership in the pursuit of quality education and training geared towards an effective and efficient maritime service.
The said event was attended by PCG officers and staff and personnel and cadets from the PMMA.
