USS Preble to Depart for Deployment

The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) is scheduled to depart April 19 for deployment to the 7th Fleet Area of Operations (AOR).

While deployed, Preble will conduct integrated operations with allies and partners in the Western Pacific.

“The crew has trained hard over the past year and is very much looking forward to executing the mission on deployment,” said Cmdr. Kurt M. Sellerberg, CO for Preble. “They are motivated, enthusiastic and eager to execute; I have no doubt they will do very well while deployed and I look forward to seeing them in action.”

Preble helps provide deterrence, promote peace and security, preserve freedom of the seas, and provide humanitarian assistance/disaster response within 3rd Fleet’s 50-million square mile AOR in the Eastern Pacific.

U.S. Third Fleet leads naval forces in the Eastern Pacific from the West coast of North America to the international date line.
